Throwing out the role-models with the trash.
December 20, 2007
Gosh, the big news today, Britney’s sister: this just solidifies the fact that this family is trash with one big exception, they have television shows and cd’s to give folks the impression they’ve got their shit together. And that television show is geared to kids. Remember Vanessa Hudgens? Who’s next Miley/Hanna? What happened to the good old days when trashy folks knew their place and stayed there.
We put way too much stock in what celebrity’s and athletes do these days and completely ignore the fact that there are thousands of folks in this country that have 100 times more character and do 100 times more good for unselfish reasons that most or all of the celebrity’s and athletes in the world and all those genuine do-gooders go unnoticed in their actions. Our kids believe what they see and what they’re seeing right now from their TV “role-models” is that wise judgement and discretion is passe. If you don’t believe that, then I’d be willing to bet that this 16 year old mother to be’s website will be flooded with words of support from her fans and maybe even a parent or two who will throw out a few “God bless you’s” and offer advice on mothering to a girl who would probably argue with her own mother over use of makeup if she came from a “normal” family.
We parents better take control now, learn to say no and get a grip on what our kids are allowing to influence them.

Heres One gleaned from another blog: “We have to congratulate Britney and Britney’s mom Lynne Spears for being an aunt and a grandma- respectively.”
